MLM niche marketing was first introduced to me…..
…..shortly after I took my mlm business online. I was told that I should concentrate on marketing to smaller amounts of people within a niche for better results in my recruiting. The only problem was that I didn’t really understand the concept of mlm niche marketing.
My first thought was that I could market to people that were interested in some of the same things I was.
I like backpacking so I thought maybe I could appeal to other backpackers. It was a good thought but I wasn’t marketing backpacking stuff, I was marketing my mlm opportunity. So I found myself at a conundrum of sorts.
My next thought was that I should find an mlm that tied into backpacking or camping somehow. Meanwhile I wasn’t marketing at all.
Neither of these were really bad ideas but I still didn’t understand mlm niche marketing.
“Niche” is such a broad term that I was getting lost in the actual meaning of the word instead of zeroing in on who I should be marketing to.
When mlm niche marketing, you need to define your target market. It doesn’t have to be a specific group of people. Although that is a definition of a niche, it doesn’t have to conform to that specifically. I was getting side-tracked with the “what is” part and not focusing on the “what do they need” part.
Here are some things to keep in mind when mlm niche marketing:
- Know your target market
- Zero in on the needs of your target market
- Identify any specific problems your prospect may have that you could solve
- Know your strengths
- Know your products and compensation plan
- Know that you are the expert
When finding your own mlm marketing niche, don’t let yourself get too over-whelmed with details. You just need to define your target market and then focus in on their wants, needs, and desires.
Your mlm products will tell you a great deal of who you should be targeting. If you’re in health and wellness then you should be looking for health nuts and fitness buffs. If you are in a goods and services type of mlm then ask yourself “who needs my goods and services?”
A perfect example of mlm niche marketing would be if I was in, let’s say a legal services mlm company. You’re up-line is going to tell you that everyone needs lawyers and advice. So you start marketing to everyone, the problem is that everyone doesn’t need it right now. To solve this problem, you would market towards everyone on how your legal service has solved your specific problem. That way, there is something that your prospects can identify with.
MLM niche marketing doesn’t have to be as hard as I was making it, but as long as you have identified your target and can identify their problems, you will have no trouble at all finding your niche!
